Former Wildcat Allonzo Trier gets second year with the Knicks

We’re all familiar with the story by now! Former Wildcat Allonzo Trier went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft, but he made owners and teams pay this past season en route to a solid rookie season.

Trier played well for the New York Knicks’ organization that was rather a mess last season, but nonetheless, he went from being a two-way player (one that can technically earn more than a G-League player, but can only play so many games in the NBA).

Still pretty early in through the year, the Knicks realized they found a hidden gem in Trier, and instead signed him to a two-year, $7 million contract, with the second year being an ‘option year’, meaning the Knicks didn’t have to pick-up his option and he could have been a free agent.
