Former Arizona Wildcats star Khalil Tate was waived by the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday, the second time that the franchise has cut the quarterback-turned-wide receiver.
Tate originally signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2020 after playing 2016-19 with the UA. That stint, which saw Tate transition to wide receiver, lasted less than two months as he was released prior to training camp.
In January 2021, the Eagles signed Tate to a reserves/futures contract again as a wide receiver. Tate apparently didn’t do enough the second time around to convince the Philadelphia front office to keep him through the summer.
