Another member of Arizona’s 2020-21 squad that opted to play elsewhere has found a new home.
Forward Tibet Görener, who appeared in eight games for the Wildcats as a freshman, has transferred to San Jose State according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.
The 6-foot-9 Görener, originally from Turkey, averaged 1.1 points and 0.8 rebounds in 30 total minutes of action. All nine of his field goal attempts were from 3-point range, making three, including two against NAU in his collegiate debut on Dec. 7.
At San Jose he will be reunited with David Miller, who was Arizona’s director of on-campus recruiting and basketball analytics last season before joining new Spartans coach Tim Miles’ staff as an assistant.
