Former Arizona baseball star Joey Rickard called up by Giants

Joey Rickard is back in the big leagues.

The former Arizona Wildcats outfielder was recalled by the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, his first time on the active roster this season. He had been training at the Giants’ alternate site as a member of the 60-player roster pool.

Rickard spent his first four seasons in the MLB with the Baltimore Orioles, before being claimed off waivers by the Giants last June.
