The No. 20-ranked Arizona women’s basketball team turned the defense up in the second quarter — holding visiting Monmouth to only three points — and won 86-34 at McKale Center on Monday night.
With 4:06 left in the second quarter, Arizona’s Dominique McBryde went down with what looked like a right ankle injury. She was on crutches after halftime.
If she is out for a while it could be a big loss for UA, which improved to 8-0. The Wildcats led 14-10 after the first quarter but outscored the Hawks 27-3 in the second to take a 41-13 halftime lead.
