Derrick Williams’ pro career will take him to another part of the globe, as it was announced Wednesday that he is signing with Valencia of Liga ACB, Spain’s top league.
Valencia finished in third place the last two seasons and also participates in the EuroLeague, the second-best league in the world.
Williams spent the 2019-20 season with Turkey’s Fenerbahce, where he averaged 10.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting 47 percent from the field and 36 percent from 3. The 29-year-old said he turned down NBA offers to play there.
