Deandre Ayton, Arizona Wildcats beat USC for Pac-12 Tournament championship

Allonzo Trier found himself on the left wing with no place to go. The Arizona junior looked inside, but USC’s zone cut off passing lanes, so after quick thought, Trier simply did the next best thing.

He fired the ball over the top.

It wasn’t a good pass, but when the target is 7-foot-1, it didn’t need to be. Arizona freshman Deandre Ayton rose above the crowd, caught Trier’s pass and dunked it home. USC coach Andy Enfield called time, but it was too late. Arizona had shifted into championship mode.

The Wildcats have been through so much this season.
