Danielle O’Toole and Taylor McQuillin are heading to Tokyo.
Team Mexico beat Canada 2-1 on Saturday to officially qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics.
O’Toole allowed just one run in 14.1 innings of work in qualifiers, with 17 strikeouts. McQuillin pitched four scoreless innings, punching out 11 batters.
Only six teams will be participating in the Olympics. The Americans have already qualified.
Current UA catcher Dejah Mulipola is likely to make Team USA’s roster. Fellow senior Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza will try out for the team in October as well.
