On their five-match losing streak, Arizona volleyball has gone through the ups and downs of a young team facing much more experienced opponents. On Friday, they didn’t have that obstacle, but that doesn’t mean the universe let them off the hook.
This time, it was travel that threw hurdles in their path. A career night by Sofia Maldonado Diaz helped them clear those hurdles in a 3-1 (23-25, 25-16, 37-35, 25-21) victory over Colorado. Arizona improved to 12-8 on the season and 4-5 in Pac-12 play while putting an end to a five-game losing streak.
