SAN FRANCISCO — Nico Mannion missed a 3-pointer and a contested layup during Arizona's final possession, allowing St. John’s to hang on for a 70-67 win over the Wildcats on Saturday at the Chase Center.
It was Arizona's third loss in its past four games, dropping the Wildcats to 10-3 at the end of their non-conference season.
The Wildcats trailed nearly all of the game, having struggled to hit 3s (3 of 16), rebound well on the defensive end (St. John’s had 13 offensive rebounds) and turned the ball over 10 times in the first half, often against the Red Storm’s press.
