LAHAINA, Hawaii – Justin Coleman scored a season-high 18 points to lead Arizona to a 71-66 comeback win over Iowa State in a first-round Maui Invitational game at the Lahaina Civic Center.
The Wildcats trailed by nine points at halftime and by 10 with 11 minutes to go, but fueled their comeback with defense and Coleman's shooting. Iowa State shot just 34.5 percent in the second half after taking a 36-27 halftime lead.
Playing without four rotation players including standout guard Lindell Wigginton, the Cyclones made just 4 of 24 3-pointers and committed 14 turnovers, leading to a 16-11 Arizona advantage in points scored off turnovers.
