ANAHEIM, Calif. – Five Arizona players scored in double figures while the Wildcats held off Boise State for the second time in 11 days and won 68-59 in the third-place game of the Wooden Legacy at the Honda Center.
The win moved Arizona to 6-1 entering their toughest test of the nonconference season, Saturday at Gonzaga. Boise State, which also lost 88-76 at Arizona on Nov. 19, dropped to 3-4.
After taking a nine-point halftime lead, the Wildcats kept up their defensive pressure while building leads as high as 19 points. They led 57-41 with eight minutes left, having held Boise to just 5-of-14 shooting over the first 12 minutes of the second half.
