The University of Arizona on Wednesday announced salary reductions for senior leadership and head coaches.
In a statement, the school said that Athletic director Dave Heeke, men's basketball coach Sean Miller, football coach Kevin Sumlin, women's basketball coach Adia Barnes and baseball coach Jay Johnson have voluntarily taken 20 percent salary reductions.
In April, the athletic department at the school projected a $7.5 million revenue shortfall for the current fiscal year ending in June due to the current coronavirus outbreak. It froze all athletic spending, hiring and raises, according to an internal memo obtained by USA TODAY Sports.
