The Arizona Wildcats extended their win streak to 11 games on Tuesday after a sweep of No.9 Oklahoma and Long Beach State in Long Beach, California. Arizona came in playing some of the best softball in the country and have shot up the rankings all the way to No. 5. With the two wins, Arizona is now 26-1, the teams best start since the 2004 season.
In the team’s most dramatic game of the season, the first match up of the day saw Arizona take down the defending national champions Oklahoma 4-3, in walk off fashion. A shallow infield single by Mandie Perez was enough to drive in the game’s tying and winning runs, capping off a game that went back and forth with four lead changes.
