The hard part is over.
After an eight-season drought, the No. 6-seeded Arizona Wildcats have made it back to the Women’s College World Series for the first time since 2010.
Now, they are hoping to make some noise in Oklahoma City.
The eight-time national champions will be facing the No. 3-seeded Washington Huskies, the reigning national runner-up, to open the WCWS on Thursday. The game time and broadcast information is to be determined.
The bad news is Washington (50-7) has swept the Wildcats (47-14) in each of the past two seasons, including earlier this month in Tucson.
