Arizona softball run rules BYU in first game without Reyna Carranco

Arizona didn’t miss a beat without Reyna Carranco.

The Wildcats run-ruled BYU 12-0 in five innings in their first game without their star second baseman, who is out indefinitely with a thumb injury.

Mike Candrea shuffled the lineup to compensate for the loss of their No. 2 hitter and it worked to perfection. The Wildcats peppered the ball around the ballpark, scoring all 12 runs in the first inning.

Dejah Mulipola ripped a two-run single and capped the inning by smashing a grand slam into the left-field bleachers.

Jessie Harper kicked off the scoring with a frozen rope RBI double and later blooped an RBI single into right field.
