The Arizona soccer team didn't get the payback it was hoping for.
Seeking to avenge last season’s home loss to Pepperdine, the 20th-ranked Wildcats arrived in Malibu, California hoping to return the favor. But the Waves cruised to a 3-1 victory on Friday afternoon at Tari Frahn Rokus Field.
Arizona jumped out to an early lead, but Pepperdine took advantage of a young Arizona defense and scored three unanswered goals en-rout to the win.
"We never got going in the second half and Pepperdine took advantage, and we couldn't get back in the game," Arizona head coach Tony Amato told Arizona Athletics after the game.
