Before Chip Hale was introduced as the new head baseball coach on Wednesday, the Arizona Wildcats released his contract details.
Hale inked a five-year contract on July 6 that will pay him a base salary $435,000 in his first season and increase by $5,000 every season. He will also earn a $65,000 payout from Nike each season, bringing his salary to $2.55 million over five years.
For reference, Jay Johnson’s salary for 2020-21 was roughly $850,000 in his final season at Arizona but that included $300,000 from the school’s Longevity Fund.
