This is not a repeat: Scooby Wright has been named to a watch list.
Two days after headlining the Bednarik Award watch list, the UA’s junior linebacker topped the Nagurski Award watch list when it was released Friday morning.
Wright, with his 163 tackles, 29 tackles-for-loss and 14 sacks, won both awards last year along with the Lombardi Award.
Wright is looking to become just the second player ever to win the Nagurski Award twice. Northwestern linebacker Pat Fitzgerald, now the program’s head coach, won the award in in 1995 and 1996.
Wright wasn’t the only Wildcat getting some preseason attention Friday.
