With one quarter to go, the Arizona Wildcats trail Washington State 38-28.
The Wildcats trimmed the Cougars lead in the third quarter with a 3-yard touchdown pass from Jerrard Randall to Cayleb Jones. Two plays earlier, on a reverse Jones, a receiver, completed a pass to Trey Griffey for a 25-yard gain.
At halftime, Washington State led the Wildcats 31-21.
The Wildcats came into the second quarter trailing by two touchdowns and within the first eight minutes of the quarter already tied it up. But Arizona’s defense had a tough time with Cougars quarterback Luke Falk, and the Cougars took advantage of the Wildcats young secondary.
