The Arizona Wildcats have a proclivity for late-game comebacks, but on Saturday against Washington State, they couldn’t quite pull it off.
Arizona trailed by 10 points after three quarters, and cut the deficit to three points on a Jared Baker touchdown run, but couldn’t complete the comeback, losing 45-42. With the loss, Arizona dropped to 5-3 (2-3 Pac-12) on the season.
Just like last week against Colorado, Arizona’s attempted comeback was spurred on by back-up quarterback Jerrard Randall, who replaced starter Anu Solomon early in the third quarter.
Randall guided Arizona on three straight scoring drives, one ending in a 3-yard touchdown pass to Cayleb Jones, and another with the Baker touchdown.
