STANFORD, Calif. — Stanford plays old-school football, so of course Barry Sanders scored a touchdown.
Sanders, the son of NFL great Barry Sanders, ripped off a 65-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter Saturday, extending Stanford's lead to 48-17 at Stanford Stadium. The dash came one play after Arizona scored its second touchdown of the game, a 1-yard run by Nick Wilson.
The score marked the beginning of the end. Arizona went three-and-out on its next drive, and Stanford began to empty its bench.
It's been like that all night: Remound Wright scored a pair of second-quarter touchdowns, extending 18th-ranked Stanford's lead over the UA.
