Arizona Wildcats kickoff specialist Edgar Gastelum sat out Saturday’s 49-28 loss to No. 12 Colorado because he suffered a concussion in practice during the week.
How did it happen? A ball hit Gastelum on the head at practice and he wasn’t wearing a helmet.
“It’s hard to believe. The ball hit him — it’s probably happened to all of us — but somehow that caused a concussion and he can’t kick,” Rodriguez said. “That’s a first.”
Rodriguez’s reaction?
“Are you kidding me!?” he said in dismay.
Kicker/punter Josh Pollack filled in for Gastelum against Colorado, and the results weren’t pretty.
