A quick look at Arizona’s defensive statistics last year suggest the Wildcats’ defensive line improved dramatically.
The UA had 38 sacks in 2014, most in at least six seasons.
The Wildcats posted more sacks than the days of Brooks Reed and Ricky Elmore and finally seemed to make some of the quarterbacks in the Pac-12 uncomfortable.
But consider this: Of the 38 sacks last season, just nine came from defensive linemen. Linebacker Scooby Wright, who sometimes would line up at defensive end, accounted for 14 by himself.
The line actually provided three more sacks in 2013, when the Wildcats had just 23 total as a team.
