Heading into the draft, former Arizona Wildcat Dane Cruikshank was being projected all the way from the second round to the seventh round. After waiting four and a third rounds and 151 picks, Cruikshank finally heard his name as the Titans chose him with pick number 152.
The selection of Dane does not surprise many as the Titans desperately need safety help. Despite the excellent play of Kevin Byard, who finished the season with eight interceptions, Tennessee’s safety play was a letdown. The strong safeties, Johnathon Cyprien and Da’norris Searcy finished the year with one interception combined and 50 total tackles.
