Arizona drops offensive slugfest at home to New Mexico State

New Mexico State scored in each of the first seven innings on Tuesday on its way to a 15-13 win over the Arizona Wildcats at Hi Corbett Field.

The 4 1/2-hour game featured 37 hits, 13 walks and four errors as the Wildcats (19-23) dropped their second straight at home and third in a row overall.

Starting pitcher Quinn Flannigan lasted just 23 of an inning before coach Jay Johnson pulled the freshman, who allowed three runs and three hits with two walks. Four ensuing relievers each allowed at least two earned runs as NMSU (31-11) built a 15-7 lead in the seventh inning.
