Arizona center Josh McCauley named to Rimington Trophy preseason watch list

Arguably Arizona’s most experienced offensive lineman, Josh McCauley’s play has not gone unnoticed at the national level.

For the third time in his career, McCauley has been nominated to the preseason Rimington Trophy watchlist. The trophy is given to the nation’s top center. This year, the Trophy Committee worked with Pro Football Focus (PFF) in order to whittle down to the top 40 centers.

McCauley is now in his sixth year as a Wildcat, returning to Tucson after the shortened 2020 season.

The former walk-on earned the starting gig at center after now-Oregon State Beaver Nathan Eldridge suffered a knee injury during fall camp in 2018.
