College basketball may be a month away but if you were in McKale center on Friday night the season started a little early.

Arizona Wildcat’s fans gathered to attend the annual Red-Blue game and honor the 1997 team that won the NCAA men’s basketball championship. The ’97 squad was introduced before the game, and at halftime they brought out the championship trophy to the delight of the McKale Center crowd.

The night started with a dunk contest won by Rawle Alkins. Alkins got things started by dunking over Sean Miller. He had Miller place the ball over his head and leapt over him for an incredible slam dunk.
