After a bus ride to Brooklyn from Chester, Pennsylvania, 40 kids shuffled off a bus and into the nosebleed section of the Barclays Center, high above the right side of the NBA draft stage.
They couldn’t be happier.
“The kids are loving it,” said Brian Warren, one of the chaperones for a bus ride Rondae Hollis-Jefferson sponsored for his hometown youth. “They’re so excited.”
Saying he wanted kids from his hometown to experience the draft, Hollis-Jefferson held an essay contest for them to write about what inspires them and what they aspire to be.
