You could say Arizona's two-year home-and-home series with Gonzaga lived up to expectations.
In the two games of the now-concluded series, the Wildcats and Zags played two riveting games settled by a total of just eight points. Arizona won 66-63 in overtime last season at McKale Center, then pulled out a come-from-behind 68-63 win Saturday at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
Both games were sold out. Both games were on ESPN. Both games built postseason resumes — for both sides, really.
They’ll do it again starting in four years, when they start a home-and-home series in 2019-20 and 2020-21.
