Russell Westbrook attended UCLA for only two years before becoming the No. 4 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, but he proved he has some strong ties to the school.
And not just because he gave an undisclosed amount toward the Bruins’ practice facility, nor just because he told the Pauley Pavilion crowd it was “a true blessing to go to the greatest university in the world, UCLA” when he was honored for that donation at halftime Thursday.
It might have been because Westbrook dropped the microphone so he could start wiggling his fingers … and then executed the sometimes tricky "Eight Clap" cheer that UCLA is famous for.
