Lauri Markkanen hasn’t officially suited up for the Arizona Wildcats yet, but expectations are already sky high for the 7-footer from Finland.
On Thursday, Markkanen was one of 20 candidates listed on the 2017 Karl Malone Award watch list — an award given to the best power forward in college basketball.

Arizona head coach Sean Miller has raved about Markkanen, saying that he’s talented, athletic, and well-coached because of his experience in international basketball.
“He’s very skilled,” Miller said at media day.
