After a pretty good pitching performance overall in Corvallis, the Arizona Wildcats returned back to Tucson on Wednesday night, but the pitching did not.
Saturday starter Nathan Bannister can only do so much. He went two innings to start the game, but the rest of the staff did not fare so well as the Arizona State Sun Devils clinched the season series with a 6-5 victory.
Arizona scored four of those runs in the second inning, giving the bullpen a 4-0 cushion. ASU walked four guys in a row to start the inning, and a Scott Kingery double to left-center made it 3-0.
