Spring has arrived early in Tucson, and Jay Johnson is already making his impact felt on the baseball diamond. As you may recall, Arizona changed up staff after the resignation of previous head coach Andy Lopez in May. They looked no further than Jay Johnson as successor. The 38-year-old former Nevada Head Baseball Coach is already having quite the success.
In just two seasons with the Wolfpack, he compiled a 72-42 record, going 41-15 in 2015, a stark improvement from the 31-27 record in just his first season as an NCAA head coach. Johnson breathes new air into a program starving for some new blood and young energy.
