There are fewer Arizona Wildcats participating in the Cape Cod League than normal, but JJ Matijevic is representing well, as he was named to the West All-Star team on Saturday.
Getting more reps at first base, Matijevic had been struggling, with his batting average sitting just above .200 on July 5th. But after Saturday's action, Arizona's rising sophomore now possesses a batting average of .301, which is the tenth-highest in the Cape so far.
Since July 5th, Matijevic is 16-for-35 in nine games, has four of his eight total runs driven in, and four of his seven extra base hits (three doubles and a home run).
