The Arizona Wildcats defeated the UCLA Bruins 6-3 on Sunday to complete the sweep of the No. 7 team in the nation.
Arizona’s RPI has jumped from 46th to 38th as a result.
Arizona starter Juan Aguilera was spectacular, going 6 1/3 innings allowing six hits, walking three, and striking out five. He did allow two runs on a third-inning homer by UCLA second baseman Chase Strumpf.
Arizona’s lone reliever was even more dominant than Aguilera. Zach Sherman struck out five in 2 2⁄3 innings, allowing just one hit — a single in the ninth.
