Arizona Wildcats five-star freshman forward Ray Smith has a torn ACL and will miss the 2015-16 season, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported Smith’s injury on Twitter.

Arizona confirms that freshman Ray Smith has torn his ACL. Will miss season. Had a good chance to start at some point this year.

A former star at Las Vegas High School, Smith also drew interest from UNLV, UCLA, Louisville, Georgetown and many others as a recruit. He instead opted to join coach Sean Miller’s fast-paced Wildcats team that got as far as the Elite Eight last season, and there is no doubt that his aggressive scoring attack and athleticism will be missed this season, not to mention is elite size at 6-foot-8, 180 pounds.
