The Arizona Wildcats continued their recruiting hot streak Monday, adding a commitment from three-star linebacker Matthew ‘Mojo’ Weerts.
247Sports ranks Weerts as the No. 1,415 player and No. 58 linebacker in the 2021 class. He is listed at 6-foot-2, 221 pounds and attends Batavia High School in Batavia, Illinois.
Weerts also had offers from Boise State, Air Force, Army, Navy and other mid-majors. He racked up 86 tackles (8.0 for loss), two interceptions and 2.5 sacks as a junior. He had seven sacks as a sophomore when he played defensive end.
Weerts is Arizona’s ninth 2021 commit, all of whom have pledged since May.
