PALO ALTO, Calif. – For ASU forward Zylan Cheatham, Saturday was a difficult one from start to finish. The emotional part came in the morning when he attended funeral services for his younger brother, who was shot and killed two weeks ago, in Phoenix.
Then he hustled over to Sky Harbor Airport and boarded a plane for San Jose, later joining his teammates who were preparing to square off against Stanford in a Pac-12 showdown at Maples Pavillion. Cheatham did his part with eight points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals but it wasn't enough as the Sun Devils fell to the Cardinal 85-71 to fall to 11-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
