Women’s Tennis Comes up Short at Washington

SEATTLE – Sun Devil Women's Tennis (4-3, 0-0 Big 12) were unable to mount a comeback against Washington (5-1, 0-0 Big Ten) Sunday afternoon in Seattle. The team will wrap up a three-game road trip next Saturday when they face San Diego at 1 p.m. MST.

The Sun Devils were unable to win the doubles point over the Huskies. The doubles pair of Spaka and Taylor were behind in their match 3-5 when the Huskies clinched the point to take a 1-0 lead. However, the remain a perfect 5-0 this season.

In singles, the Sun Devils and the Huskies appeared to be evenly matched until Emilija Tverijonaite, Sara Svetac, Patricija Spaka and Karin Altori were able to win their opening sets in singles, however Washington forced a third set in four of the six matches.
