TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 22 Arizona State women’s soccer team’s game versus San Diego State was cancelled on Monday night after it was determined that the field was not playable following heavy rain.
The game started on time however it was called to a halt after only 15:03 of game time had elapsed due to lightning in the area. The lightning would continue and would eventually be accompanied by heavy rain, which eventually forced the cancellation of the game.
“When we went to look at the field we quickly discovered that it was saturated to the point that the ball would not roll,” said ASU head coach Kevin Boyd.
