TEMPE - Turner Washington is a real contender for an Olympic medal, and Jane Miller is very fast.
The Sun Devils competed in the West Coast Classic Saturday, sending distance runners and throwers to Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon and sprinters and jumpers down to Tucson to compete at Roy P Drachman Stadium. Washington highlighted the day, winning both the shot and discus, his plate throw going 66.26m/217-5, a six foot improvement on his program-leading personal record. Miller turned heads in the women's 5K, winning in 16:45.72, a 15-second PR improvement for the Yale transfer.
