If the U.S. Olympic Wrestling Trials had been held a year ago as scheduled, Zahid Valencia wouldn't have been competing.
Now, though, the two-time Arizona State national champion is more than four months beyond a nine-month suspension for a drug violation and among the leading contenders to make the Olympics from the Sunkist Kids Regional Training Center.
Valencia and 10 others training in Tempe are among an even larger group of 28 representing Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club that will compete Friday and Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas, for berths at the Tokyo Olympics.
