Erik Tolman brought Arizona State baseball some rhapsody in the rain Tuesday night.
Just as showers began falling in the second inning and fans moved for cover at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, Tolman hit the first of his two home runs in a 12-5 win over Seattle.
Tolman is a freshman two-way player who started at designated hitter for just the second time on Tuesday. He responded with his first collegiate homers including a three-run pop to right-center that erased a 2-0 deficit. He also hit a solo homer in the fourth and doubled in the sixth when Seattle left fielder Julian Kodama slipped on the play.
