SAN DIEGO – The way this non-conference season has gone, with poor defense and questionable effort, this has to be considered a breakthrough, no matter how long it lasts.
Arizona State entered Saturday having lost their last two games away from Tempe by 46 and 33 points. While San Diego State is not on the level of Kentucky and Purdue, the Aztecs have one of college basketball’s best home environments. Saturday, a crowd 12,414 packed inside Viejas Arena.
