Tra Holder hits last-second shot to lift ASU over USC

Bobby Hurley had a timeout, but he didn’t use it. From the bench, the Arizona State coach signaled for the Sun Devils to run the offense.

With six seconds left, Tra Holder used a screen from teammate Romello White and drove left. USC’s Chimezie Metu, one of the Pac-12’s top shot blockers, came to defend Holder, but the senior guard kept going, lofting a running shot that banked in with 1.9 seconds left.

ASU needed a win like this. In the final seconds, Holder provided it. The Sun Devils scored the game’s final nine points to stun USC 80-78 on a late Thursday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
