FAIRBANKS, Alaska – For the second night in a row in the 49th state, the Arizona State men's ice hockey team went to overtime against Alaska Fairbanks. Despite outshooting the Nanooks and an outstanding performance from starting netminder Ben Kraws, the duel ultimately concluded in a 1-1 tie, ASU's (15-17-1) first of the season.
Unlike the previous night, Alaska (13-17-2) struck first and held the lead until midway through the second period. At 12:49 into the middle frame, captain Colin Theisen shoveled the puck over the line to knot the score with assists from Jack Judson and Josh Doan.
