No. 2 national seed Texas improved to 44-15 with the winner’s bracket victory at Disch-Falk Field in Austin.
No. 2 regional seed ASU (33-21) faces an elimination game at 11 a.m. Sunday against Fairfield with the winner of that game facing Texas at 5 p.m. Sunday in the double-elimination regional. The Sun Devils won 7-6 over Fairfield on Friday.
ASU would need three consecutive wins — two Sunday and another over Texas on Monday — to win its first regional since 2010.
