OJAI, Calif.—Senior Joanna Smith advanced to the semifinals of the Pac-12 Invitational singles bracket, Friday, at the Pac-12 Championships in Ojai, Calif.
Coming back after dropping the first set, Smith defeated USC’s Zoe Katz, 5-7, 6-2, 6-3. The senior will compete, Saturday, for a spot in the Invitational bracket finals against USC’s Meredith Xepoleas.
Junior Desirae Krawczyk, seeded sixth overall in singles play, battled into three sets with top-seeded Giuliana Olmos of USC but ultimately dropped the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
In doubles play, Krawczyk along with partner Stephanie Vlad defeated the team of Bashota/Leenknecht of Washington State, 8-6 in the round of 16 to advance to the quarterfinals.
