Junior guard Taya Hanson tied an Arizona State record seven 3-pointers Friday night in a 56-53 comeback win over California at Desert Financial Arena. Hanson scored all 21 of her points on treys, going 7-of-10. She bettered her career scoring high of 15, set in ASU's previous game against Utah on Dec. 18.
Playing for the first time in two weeks, the Sun Devils trailed 28-19 at halftime in a game that began 3½ hours later due to COVID protocol unrelated to ASU being without Eboni Walker and Bre'yanna Sanders. The two forwards did not play due to injury or discipline, but ASU provided no further explanation.
